Višnjan is a village located 13 km east of Poreč, in Istria, Croatia, population 625 (2001), centre of a municipality of 2,187 (2001).
Višnjan is the site of Višnjan Observatory (an astronomical Observatory).
The name probably comes from the Latin word 'vicinianus', referring to the land given to the Roman legionnaire Vicinianus after his retirement from the Roman army.
