Swalmen (Limburgish and town dialect: Zjwame) is a Municipality and a Town in the southeastern Netherlands. The town is situated between the German border and the Meuse river (Maas in Dutch). It has a rich history, of which the originally Roman 'Rozenkerkje' church in Asselt is an impressive silent witness.

Many monuments are found in Swalmen, most notable the Hillenraad castle, and castle farms Graeterhof and Zuidewijk Spick. The area attracts many tourists (mostly Germans) for its asparagus, and local swimming pool ' de Bosberg'.
