Pontrilas Pontrilas New Kimya Dawson Album Pontrilas is a small village in South Herefordshire, two miles from the border with Wales. It is in the parish of Kentchurch and lies midway between Hereford and Abergavenny.
The village name means bridge over three rivers, as the River Dore, Worm Brook and Dulas brook meet there. The manor House was once the home of the Baskerville family.
The village once had its own railway station and cattle market. The station, served two lines, the main Cardiff to Crewe railway line which still operates, and the Golden Valley Railway line which used to terminate here until its closure in 1957. The station itself was closed in 1964 and is now a guest house.
The village once boasted a pub, The Scudamore Arms but it was burned down in the 1930s
The largest business in the area is Pontrilas Timber which has been there since 1947. There are also a number of other smaller businesses and a garden centre.
