This is often due to excessive build up of the <a href="Uterus">womb</a> lining (the <a href="Endometrium">Endometrium</a>) but may be due to a spontaneous abortion or fibroid <a href="Tumor">tumours</a>. <a href="Cancer">Cancer</a> of the endometrium usually causes irregular bleeding, rather than menorrhagia. The condition can often be treated with the <a href="Birth control">contraceptive</a> pill.
