Members of <a href="Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints">The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints</a> do not use the <a href="Cross">Cross</a> as a symbol of their religion, as many other <a href="Christian">Christian</a> denominations do. Various reasons have been given.  However, the primary reason was given in a first presidency message in 2005.  <a href="Gordon B. Hinckley">Gordon B. Hinckley</a> states "the cross is the symbol of the dying Christ, while our message is that of a living Christ."
