<catset>Category="Filipino culture"</catset><catset>Category="Malayan swords"</catset>The <b>Kampilan</b> is a famous <a href="Moro">Moro</a> long <a href="Sword">Sword</a> still in use by many <a href="Filipino Muslim">Filipino Muslims</a> today. It was also the sword used by <a href="Lapu-Lapu">Lapu-Lapu</a> in his fight with <a href="Ferdinand Magellan">Ferdinand Magellan</a> in the <a href="Battle of Mactan">Battle of Mactan</a> 500 years ago. It is single edged and about 35 to 40 inches long, it has a handle that is made up of hardwood, and the end is designed to look like the open mouth of a <a href="Crocodile">Crocodile</a>. It has a spikelet at the tip and is wide at the end and narrows down gradually to the hilt.
