Subsequently, the name applied to the descendants of the Itelmens, i.e. Koryaks and Chuvans, who has assimilated with the Russians. The descendants of the Russian settlers in 18th-19th century were also called Kamchadals. The Kamchadals speak Russian with a touch of Siberian and local dialects. The Kamchadals are engaged in Fishing, fur trading, Market gardening and Dairy farming.
