The cornflower or bachelor's button (Centaurea cyanus) is a small annual Composite plant with blue flowers. It grows natively in cornfields (i.e. wheatfields) in Europe, but now is naturalised in North America and other parts of the world.
The Blue Cornflower has been the national flower of Estonia since 1968 and symbolizes daily bread to Estonians. It is also the national flower of Belarus.
The flower is the symbol of the Swedish political party, Folkpartiet, and the Estonian political party, Rahvaliit.
