<b>(B&#259;rbat)</b><p><catset>Category="Rulers of Wallachia"</catset><b>B&#259;rbat</b> succeeded his brother <a href="Litovoi">Litovoi</a> as ruler of the principality on the East bank of the river <a href="Olt">Olt</a>. Taken hostage in the same battle in which Litovoi was killed, he managed to gather a large sum of money and pay the ransom.
